This System is being phased out and recommend the Versatile1, 2 or 4, CLPD PLL, THESE BOARDS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE If you have any Questions please use this Form Mail
Completed Boards, assembled, Tested, and Setup Loop filter to your XTAL Freq. as you specify. Cost Plus shipping $45.00. Assembly unit has layout for additional Op-Amp should it be required for your application. Folks this LMX2306 PLL Synthesizer is a relatively new device, a couple of years, but extremely easy to work with, and obtain a very LOW Phase Jitter, and Phase Noise level. PDF Files 1 , PDF File 2, These files are for the layout and silk screening. Barry VE4MA will be testing this PLL Synthesizer at 47Ghz......so there will be MUCH more information to add. Schematic for LMX2306Code Loader ConnectionThese are true PLL devices readily programmable, no PIC involvedand work great. I have been working with these device for the last two weeks while recuperatingi. The LMX2306 I use will work from 25 to 550Mhz , and it looks excellent. The LMX2316 will work from 100Mhz to 1.2Ghz. This Device is not needed for VCXO applications, since all RF input should be taken from the VCXO.........NOT up-stream at the LO IF Freq. points......more on this late. The ADF Devices work well, but are more sensitive to input drive.......more later on this subject. Frequencies I have tried with nearly inentical results as show above in first scope trace: 96Mhz, 94.66667Mhz , 106.5Mhz, 101Mhz, 93.6Mhz, 116Mhz, 120.0Mhz, 117.0Mhz, 120.888889Mhz, 93.750000Mhz, 192Mhz...7th overtone......more on this one later. Voltage swings are from near 0 to 4.8VDC in for each XTAL and anything higher should NEVER be used....AGAIN more LATER on this subject. Watch WMV File of V-Tune voltage in action.......THESE ARE NOT GOOD Videos because my third Arm & Hand was not working well at all while playing with the xtal components. Video 1, Video 2. One has the Scope Intensity to LOW and the other Video Intensity is way to HIGH, hi. Remember you only need to Load PLL Registers once, the memory cell will retain Registers until you wish to change them to perhasp a different Freq. of operation. I strongly recommend reading the LMX2306 PDF File. Also download National Semi CodeLoader2 Software.
